Orama Christian Community has been a place of transformation and renewal for over 40 years. Pioneered by Neville and Dorothy Winger in 1963 and through the passion and sacrifice of countless people since then, Orama has become a place of healing and encounter. Many say, ‘it’s one of those ‘thin places’ in the earth where God seems extraordinarily close’. Orama carries a strong prophetic mantle, and is a gift of God to the body of Christ. Its remote location and beautiful natural surroundings make it an ideal setting in which to seek God away from the distractions of city life, and yet it is connected to the latest technology enabling you to enjoy the best of both worlds.
Orama is nestled in a coastal valley and is surrounded by regenerating bush and mature trees, a mere fifty meters away are the sparkling waters of Karaka Bay, beyond the bay smaller islands punctuate the outer reaches of this tranquil harbour. The island itself offers some of the most unspoilt beaches in New Zealand. Native bush tracks wind through palm groves, over crystal clear streams and up to high peaks with panoramic views of the island and ocean beyond. Quite apart from this beautiful natural wilderness you will be taking a 3 month season of devotion and study that will position you to receive from God in new and exciting ways. We look forward to taking this journey with you. For more information visit www.orama.org.nz
